McCloud River Fly Fishing Guides - McCloud, Mount Shasta, Dunsmuir Area - Upper McCloud, Lower McCloud, Ash Camp, Ah Di Nah Campground, Nature Conservancy.
The Upper Sacramento River is the most important river in California, it feeds the Central Valley and the world with its glacial waters from tributary sources like Mount Shasta City Park, Dunsmuir’s Mossbrae Falls, Hedge Creek Falls and many feeder creeks that flow into the Sacramento River Canyon drainage. The McCloud River is a tributary of the Pit & Upper Sacramento Rivers, its turquoise colors and cold temps has always acted like a refrigerator especially in the months of July, August or September, open year around. Its flows start way up high on the peaks of Mount Shasta.
We think you’ll have an over all great experience as well as fly fishing history lesson and catch a few trout with one of our guides fly fishing possible on all 3 sections of the Upper and Lower McCloud Rivers. Did you know, McCloud River Rainbows are the most well traveled and most famous trout in the world. This river has predictable dry fly fishing most of the months this river is open for and is a great retreat in the hot summer months when fishing gets slower on most of the other rivers, this river gets better and is protected from the hot sun in deep canyons for many river miles.

We are experts in instructing parent-youth in fly fishing, the McCloud River is a great place to go. We always have gear available, other wise wet wading in the summer with neoprene socks and wading boots works fine. We suggest using a wading staff on the McCloud River, it can be slippery, wood is always better over metal.
We Always Access Unique Areas On The River, We Focus On Where The Fish Are Biting, Depending On Time Of Season.
